Music and Performance at the Summer Acadmey

Music and the arts play an important role in our community life. Scholars have the opportunity to sing in the YTI choir, share their musical talents in worship, learn and perform improvisational theatre, and contribute to our coffee houses -- casual events on Friday evenings where scholars and staff read poetry, sing, play music, perform skits, and relax.

We also occasionally invite guest artists to share their stories and talents with us as well. Past guest artists have included Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls, Carrie Newcomer, and Atlanta based hip-hop band Collective Efforts.
