Journeys of Faith & Reconciliation: Belfast, Ireland
Overview
An ecumenical travel seminar to Belfast that explores “the Troubles” of Northern Ireland and how the people of Belfast have worked toward peace and reconciliation. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear directly from former combatants as well as survivors of this violent period in their region's history. We will learn what their lives were like then and why, since that time, they have chosen to use the political process to manage their conflicts. Guided by the Rev. Dr. Gary Mason, we will explore how we can apply the lessons of Belfast to the conflicts we face today. Program Details
June 1-9, 2024 Who can apply?
Cost: $2500 (additional need-based scholarships available) The true cost of this program is $5000 (includes roundtrip airfare between Atlanta and Dublin, all lodging, ground transportation in Ireland and Northern Ireland, meals, and entrance fees). We received a grant that allows us to offer this program at half the cost. We know that this price will still be too high for some families. For this reason, we are offering need-based scholarships. We will offer fundraising support for all participants regardless of need. Application Deadline: February 9, 2024 |
