YTI Summer Workshops


The YTI Summer Academy is a 28-year-old ecumenical program in justice-seeking theological education. In 2021, we are offering an online Summer Academy as well as Summer Workshops.

The workshops are free and open to rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders and to spring 2021 high school graduates.

  • Queer Theology with Dr. Peng Yin, Postdoctoral Fellow at Candler School of Theology, June 28th, 1:30-3:00pm EDT
  • Faith and the Environment with Hannah Shultz, Program Associate at Georgia Interfaith Power and Light, July 6, 2:00-3:30pm EDT
  • Spiritual Tools for Grieving with Lahronda Little, PhD Candidate at Emory University, July 7, 2:00-3:30pm EDT
  • Building Interfaith Community with Dr. Luther Smith, Professor Emeritus of Church and Community at Candler School of Theology, July 12, 12:00-2:00pm EDT
  • Ways of Praying with Kimberly Broerman, Spiritual Director at Deep Waters Center for Prayer and Exploration, July 13, 11:00am-1:00pm EDT
  • Sacred Music in Black Church Traditions with the Rev. Kyle Stevenson, Minister, July 13, 2:00pm-3:30pm EDT
